Founder & Head Coach of Xinqiao Wushu Centre
With 30 years of dedicated practice in Chinese martial arts, Master Fang Min stands as a beacon of excellence in Wushu education. His journey began at age 7, culminating in the prestigious title of China National Wushu Champion (2005) and a distinguished academic career at Shanghai Sports University, where he earned dual degrees (B.A. & M.A.) in Traditional Wushu Pedagogy.
A seasoned instructor with 17+ years of teaching experience, Master Fang has shaped athletes across diverse domains, from elite competitors to practical self-defense practitioners. His expertise extends beyond the training hall: he previously served as a SWAT Team Combat Instructor in Shanghai, refining real-world tactical applications of martial arts.
In 2022, he established Xinqiao Wushu Centre in Ottawa, rapidly transforming it into a hub for competitive success. Under his mentorship, students dominated hundreds of medals across both Taolu (forms) and Sanda (sparring) disciplines.
Master Fang’s philosophy blends technical precision with holistic character development, empowering students to excel in tournaments and beyond.
Coach Meng Han
Coach Meng developed a passion for Wushu during her university years, specializing in Wushu Sanda. As a dedicated practitioner and enthusiast, she joined Xinqiao Wushu Team in 2022, where she focuses on children’s martial arts instruction and physical fitness training.
A firm believer in nurturing young minds through Wushu, Coach Meng advocates using Wushu-inspired enlightenment to spark children’s interest and help them fall in love with the discipline. Her creative and interactive teaching methods have made her classes a favorite among students, combining skill development with fun and motivation.
In 2025, she earned her Canadian Wushu Judge Certification, further solidifying her expertise in both teaching and officiating Wushu. Committed to fostering confidence, discipline, and physical strength in her students, Coach Meng strives to create a dynamic learning environment where children grow not only as martial artists but also as resilient, focused individuals.
